Eva A. LeZotte, 98, Marshfield, died Saturday, July 3, 2004, at Marshfield Center, where she had resided since 1993. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 6, at Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal. The Rev. Paul Nelson officiated. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Bruce LaZotte, Paul LaZotte, Todd Slaby, Jason Slaby, Kirby Fredericks and Brad Schumacher.

 

Eva Amanda Habrel was born on Jan. 16, 1906, in Merrillan, to Fred and Myrtle [nee Green] Habrel. She attended school at Dale’s Dam. She married Glenn Joseph LeZotte on Oct. 15, 1925, in Winona, Minn. They resided in Neillsville until moving to Loyal in the late 70s. She moved to the Marshfield Center in 1993, where she resided until her death. She and Glenn shared 78 years of marriage. She was a great cook, an amazing housekeeper and liked to crochet in her spare time. She greatly enjoyed helping others and found her work as a nurse’s aide at the Neillsville Memorial Home to be very rewarding.

 

Survivors include her husband, Glenn LeZotte Sr., Marshfield; her son, Glenn Jr. [Shirley] LaZotte, Stoughton; her daughter, Lorraine [Harry] Francis, Marshfield; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, LaVerne and Frederick; and one sister, Gladys.

 

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
