Laura M. Subke

 

Laura Subke, age 77, of Neillsville, died Wednesday, May 26, at the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.

 

Laura M. Subke was born on April 26, 1927 in Merrillan, the daughter of Fred A. and Lillian M. (Heneise) Wallmuth. She attended Dells Dam School and was united in marriage to John H. Subke on February 15, 1947 in Neillsville. Along with raising her family, Laura also worked as an assembler at the Nelson Filter Factory for 23 years, retiring in 1988.

 

She was a member of United Church of Christ in Neillsville.

 

Laura is survived by three daughters, Joann L. (Jon) Elertson, of Watertown, Debra M. (Gordon) Hansen, of Neillsville and Susan M. (Tom) Francis, of LaCrescent, Minn.; one son, Donald J. (Judy) Subke; 10 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; one sister, Alice (Richard) Hanby, of Black River Falls; one brother, Fred (Florence) Wallmuth, of Janesville; and a brother-in-law, Orville Stevenson, of Black River Falls.

 

Laura was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; two sisters, Mildred Stevenson and Ruth Brooken; and two brothers, Harold and George Wallmuth.

 

Funeral Services for Laura were held Saturday, May 29, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor James Mohr officiated. Interment was in the Hatfield Cemetery in Hatfield.

 

Casket Bearers were her grandsons: Fred, Butch and D.J. Subke, Brandon and Tyrone Hensiak and Tim Elertson.

 

The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Laura's family with funeral arrangements.
