Siverts, Hazel M. (Dec 1929)

(The Canby (Minn.) News)

A wedding of much interest in this community was solemnized late Thursday afternoon when Miss Hazel Marie Siverts of this city and Henry Leo Hauge of Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., were wedded. The Rev. M. E. Hauge, pastor of the First English Lutheran Church, officiating, and the five o'clock ceremony took place at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Selma Siverts. The home was beautifully decorated for the occasion with vases of chrysanthemums, pompoms, yellow and white daisies and smilax, furnishing an appropriate and festive setting for the pretty wedding.

Preceding the wedding, Anna Dahlgren, cousin of the bride, and Alpha Odland, sang the duet, "I Love You Truly," and Miss Dahlgren sang a solo, "A Perfect Day."

The bride was becomingly gowned in blue georgette and carried an arm bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums. The groom wore a navy blue suit.

Relatives and very close friends of the family were in attendance at the wedding.

Immediately following the ceremony, a bounteous wedding dinner was served at the bride's home. The beautifully decorated three-tier wedding cake in yellow and white was made by Mrs. Arthur Siverts, sister-in-law of the bride.

The bridal couple left the same evening for a two weeks' wedding trip to the twin cities, Chicago and other points, after which they will be at home at Neillsville, Wis.

The bride is the youngest daughter of Mrs. Selma Siverts of this city and is well known here. Her pleasant personality has won for her many friends. She is a graduate of the local high school. Her popularity has been evidenced by the three bridal showers given for her before her marriage, one at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Charles Johnson of Providence Township, with seventy-five people in attendance, all relatives of the bride; another at the Mrs. Dina Paulson home, given by some lady friends, and the third at the home of her sister, Mrs. J. R. Guddal, tendered her by her girl friends.

Mr. Hauge is a son of Mrs. Alfred Hauge of Neillsville, Wis. He served his country overseas in the World War. He is now in the fuel and oil station business at Neillsville.
