Olson, Ellen M. (20 JUN 1928)

Mr. Maynard Johnson and Miss Ellen Margaret Olson were united in marriage at the home of the bride's parents on Court St., at high noon, Wednesday, June 20, 1928, Rev. Charles Rawson officiating. The ring ceremony was used.

The groom was attended by Gil (a line was missing from the notice) years ago from Washara Co., and Miss Barbara Olson, the bride's sister, was bridesmaid.

The bride was dressed in pink Georgette and carried a bouquet of roses and carnations; the bridesmaid wore rose chiffon and also carried a bouquet of roses and carnations.

After the ceremony, a fine wedding dinner was served to the bridal party and the assembled guests.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Charles Johnson of Pine Valley, Clark County, Wis. The family moved here a number of years ago from Waushara Co. and bought the David Wood farm. Since the death of Mr. Johnson the son Maynard has carried on the farm very successfully. He is a thoroughly up-to-date dairyman and has one of the finest herds in this part of the county. He is a young man of fine character and trusted and respected by all who know him.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oluf Olson. She graduated from Neillsville High School in the class of 1920, and has taught school since then, first in rural schools then for two years in Loyal and the past two years in St. Croix Falls. She has been a faithful and progressive teacher, well liked by her pupils and standing high in the estimation of the community. She has been helpful in her home life and is well fitted for the new duties she assumes. To them are extended the best wishes of a large circle of friends, both here and elsewhere where they are known.

The bride and groom left Wednesday afternoon for a wedding trip by auto. On their return they will be at home at the Johnson farm after July 1.

Those from a distance who attended the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson and son Myron of Pine River, Wis.; Homer Chase, Pine River; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Casler and children of Blair; Mrs. Earl Olson, Vesper; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Olson and daughter Elva of Colby; Mr. F. M. Tuttle, grandfather of the bride from Stetsonville; Robert M. Olson and Miss Marie Pilling of Stockbridge; Ewald Schwarze, Greenwood; Miss Barbara Olson, Racine.
