Hughes, William E. (1864 - 17 Jul 1928)

Wm. E. Hughes, Sr. of Milwaukee, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 1928, at 3:25 p.m. after a hort illness.

Mr. Hughes was born in the year 1864 at Fox Lake, Wis. He is survived by his wife, Hannah Gangler Hughes, formerly of Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., and three children, namely, Jack Hughes, Mrs. Earl Wanty, and Wm. E. Hughes, Jr., besides 3 grandchildren, all of Milwaukee. Others who mourn his death are his sisters and brothers, one of whom is Mrs. Ellen Darling, lives in this city, one sister and two brothers reside in Montana, one sister in Oregon, and one brother in South Dakota.

The funeral services were held Saturday, July 21st, at Holy redeemer Catholic Church and interment was made at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Among those who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Ellen Darling, Mr. Nick Gangler and daughter Lillian of Neillsville; Mr. Gomer Hughes of Britton, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. John Gangler, Mr. Matt Gangler of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Gangler and son Merle of Lombard, Ill., Messrs George Imse Sr. and George Imse Jr. of Chicago.
