Pusheck, Gustav A. G. (15 Feb 1867 - 21 May 1928)

Gustav Adolph Gottlieb Pusheck, son of Carl Pusheck and Susan (nee Sternitzky), was born in Proviso, Ill., Feb. 15, 1867. He was baptized in early infancy and thus made a child of God's family.

When Mr. Pusheck was 15 years of age, his parents being pious people, saw to it that their son was carefully instructed in the Christian religion. This having been done, Adolph was confirmed in the Christian faith by the Rev. John Strieter, pastor of the Lutheran Church at Proviso, and pledged faithfulness to Christ and the Lutheran Church until death. By the grace of God he kept his pledge and is now reaping the eternal reward of such faith.

In 1894 the deceased was united in holy wedlock to Matilda Sternitzky. Five children were born to this happy union, Lydia, Mrs. Fred Grottke, Carl, Ernest, Alma and one dying in infancy.

Mr. and Mrs. Pusheck resided at Proviso, Ill. for the first 13 years after their marriage. In 1908 they moved to Wisconsin and settled in the town of Lynn, Clark County on the farm which now belongs to Mr. Fred Grottke. Here they lived 12 years and then moved to the farm one mile west of Chili in the town of Fremont, where Mr. Pusheck resided until death called him hence.

About three years ago the deceased suffered a stroke of apoplexy, never fully recovering from the same. About seven weeks ago another stroke followed, which confined him to his bed the remaining days of his life. After having suffered considerably, but in the midst of all, showing faith in his Savior, he fell asleep in Jesus at 6:00 o'clock Monday morning, May 21st, 1928, and thus attaining an age of 61 years, 3 months and 6 days.

His Christian burial took place May 24th at Zion's Lutheran Church, Rev. V. M. Kelper officiating. His mortal remains were laid to rest in the Maple Works Cemetery.

Gustav Adolph Gottlieb Pusheck leaves to mourn his departure his beloved wife and children, four sisters: Mrs. Anna Kemmen, Mrs. Henry Ramp, Mrs. Walter Denner and Mrs. Christ Denner, five grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Two sisters and one brother have gone before into eternity.

May the God of all grace and mercy, of all comfort and consolation, console the bereaved with His Heavenly grace, strengthen them with His help, give them after days of mourning, days of sunshine, gladden their hearts in all things until they May again be united with their dear one, who has now gone before them.

Those attending the funeral from other communities were: Fred Pusheck, Charles Pusheck and Henry Gauger of La Grange, Ill., Henry Pusheck of Forest Park, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Helm, Forest Junction, Wis.
