Downey, Cody Justin (20 July 1981 – 12 April 2022)

Cody Downey, age 40, of Black River Falls, died Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Cody Justin Downey was born on July 20, 1981, in Black River Falls, the son of Roger Downey and Gale Kingswan. He graduated from Memorial High School in Eau Claire, in 1999 and then worked as a chef at the snack bar in the casino at Black River Falls and as a sous chef at the restaurant in the casino.

Cody enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children. He was a gamer and enjoyed playing X-Box with his kids. He also enjoyed everything Wisconsin including the Packers, Brewers and Badgers.

He is survived by his children, Cross Decorah and Thunder Downey, siblings, Roger St. Claire Jr., Gus (Cynthia) Downey, Sylvia Downey, Gabe Downey and Forrest Downey Sr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Victor Kingswan and an infant sister, Crystal.

Funeral services for Cody will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the Dells Dam Community Center. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., to 12:00 p.m., Thursday at the Community Center. Burial will be in the Dewey Mike Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Jesse Blackdeer, Warrington Greengrass, CJ Greyhair, Brandon Rave, Randy Redcloud and Travis Twocrows.
