The Rev. Clyde King, who resides at Jim Falls, has been ministering to the congregation of United Methodist Church, Withee, since March 1980 when he came out of retirement. He served 30 years in the Iowa Annual Conference of United Methodist Church, retiring in June 1978 and moving to Jim Falls. While in Iowa, he served churches at Lanesboro, Dexter-Penn, Bagley-Greenbriar, Northboro-Blanchard, Sideny-Thurman and Toledo-Chelsea. Pastor King was born May 9, 1913 in Topeka, Kansas; His B.D. degree from Washburn University, Topeka, Kansas; his B.D. degree from Garrett Theological Seminary, now Garrett-Evangelical Theological School; and did advanced work in pastoral counseling at Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa. In 1948 he was a probationary member and Deacons Orders and in 1949 became a full member and Elders Orders, both Iowa Conference. He is president of the Lions Club at Jim Falls. The pastor and his wife, Grace Irene, are the parents of a son, Clyde William King, Chippewa Falls and three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Ann Gunselman, Topeka, Kansas; Mrs. Carolyn Jane Brownfield, Tama, Iowa; and Mrs. Phyliss Sue Fick, Paton, Iowa.
