Thompson, Gilbert (13 Jan. 1877 - 8 Dec. 1925)

Gilbert Thompson was born at Forest Lake, Minnesota, Jan. 13, 187, and died at the Columbia Hospital, Milwaukee, Dec. 8, following an operation for ulcer of the stomach.

Deceased grew to manhood in Minnesota, and was married in St. Paul June 17, 1903, to Miss Bertha Jacklin of the town of Weston, Clark County. They moved to West Allis in 1914, where Mr. Thompson became a motorman on the Milwaukee street car lines, following this occupation till about 4 years ago when he came to Neillsville. He did electrical work here at times and for the past year he was again employed as a motorman in Milwaukee. During his residence here he made a number of friends, and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at West Allis, retaining his membership there, but frequently attending the lodge in Neillsville during the time he was here.

He is survived by his wife and three children: Raymond, a young man of 21 who is employed in West Allis, Forest aged 19 and Gerelda, aged 15, at home in Neillsville. He leaves also two brothers, William of St. Paul and Albert in Milwaukee and one sister in St. Paul.

The funeral was held here Friday under the auspices of the Neillsville Masonic Lodge. The two brothers were here to attend the funeral, also Mrs. H. E. Trumbull of Blue Island, Ill., a sister of Mrs. Thomspon.
