Ketelhut, Wilhelmina, (3 Oct. 1857 - 6 Dec. 1925)

Mrs. August Ketelhut did Sunday night at 10:20 o’clock, Dec. 6, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Widmann, near Marshfield. She had lived with Mrs. Widmann most of the time since September 21, coming back to her home in Neillsville occasionally for a short time. Her health had been failing for five years past, but she was able to be about the house until a short time before her death. Wilhelmina Pflughoeft was born in Germany, October 3, 1857. She grew to womanhood there and on March 8, 1878, she was married to August Ketelhut. They came to America in 1885 and settled in Washington County; in 1901 they moved to Clark County and bought a farm in the town of Levis, where they lived until 1920 when they bought a home in Neillsville and moved here. Mr. Ketelhut died in March 1922.

Mrs. Ketelhut was a woman whose work in life was well done. She worked with busy hands for the comfort of her husband and children and was ever ready to help when others about her needed assistance. She will ever be remembered by all who knew her for her kindness and willingness to server relatives friends and neighbors.

She leaves four children: Richard Ketelhut in Milwaukee, Mrs. Walter Widmann of Marshfield, Mrs. Herman Meier of the town of Levis and Mrs. Frank Luck of the town of York; she leaves also 8 grandchildren, two brothers, Ferdinand and Fred Pflughoeft of Pine Valley and 3 sisters, two in Milwaukee and one in Marshfield.

The funeral was held today, Wednesday, 1 o’clock at the home and 2 o’clock at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rev. H. Brandt officiating.
