*This card was most likely sent to Clarisa Hadley Tubbs (1935-1916) from her sister-in-law, Betty Garlick Taylor (1856-1903) who 5 Oct 1878, married Eugene Hadley, the younger brother of Clarisa.

Clarissa A., the daughter of Alfred & Lura Hadley, was born 13 Jan 1835 in NY.  She married the Civil War Soldier Hiram D. Tubbs (1835–1865, Typhoid Fever​​), 24 October 1860 in Rock, Wisconsin.  Pvt. Hiram D. Tubbs of the 49th Wis. Inf. died of disease June 30, 1865, in Rolla, MO. His service had commenced 13 Feb 1865. Clarisa had given birth to their daughter, Elnora in Nov. 1863 (d. 27 Mar, 1850).  Clarisa passed away 6 Sep 1916.  They are buried in Utters Corners Cemetery, Lima Center, WI

 
Clarisa's father, Alfred Hadley (1808 VT–3 Oct 1869 WI), married Lura Hadley (1 Mar 1812-16 Dec 1870), 1 March 1832 in Sandy Creek, Oswego, NY.  They had eight children: Esther Hadley 1832–; ​​Clarissa Hadley 1835- ;​​ Warner Hadley 1837–1905; Luther Hadley 1839–1916; Sophia Hadley 1840–1876 ; Calvin Hadley 1843–1911; Elijah Hadley 1849–1911; Eugene Hadley 1855–1928.
