Elmhorst, Aurelia (22 NOV 1923)

Mr. Alfred Gerber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gerber of the town of Grant, Clark County, Wis., and Miss Aurelia Elmhorst, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Elmhorst of the town of York, Clark County, were united in marriage at the Mapleworks Lutheran Parsonage by Rev. Hasz Thanksgiving afternoon. They were attended by Miss Roselia Gerber, sister of the groom, and Mr. Elmer Elmhorst, brother of the bride.

The bride's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Dahling of Chicago, Ill., came unexpectedly to see that the bridal party was escorted safely to the home of the bride's parents, where a wedding supper was served. Not having much faith in modern conveyances, they escorted them home in the old fashioned way, which was a team of horses and a hayrack with newlywed signs and a cow bell attached, to make sure that they would have no engine trouble or blow outs. The bridal auto decorated in pink and white ribbons preceded the hayrack, announcing by blowing the horn, the coming of the bridal party.

After the supper was served by Miss Emma Elmhorst and Miss Lydia Sternitzky, a pleasant evening was spent in playing bunco. The young couple will go to housekeeping on the groom's farm south of Granton.
