Kotchy, Edward (12 AUG 1892 - 29 Sep 1923)

Edward Kotchy died at a government sanitarium for ex-service men at El Paso, Texas, Sept. 29, 1923.

He was born in Chicago August 12, 1892, and when three years old came to Clark County, Wis. with his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. John Kotchy, who settled on a farm in the town of Grant. There Edward grew to manhood and attended country school. He entered Neillsville High School and did three years work, then went to Chicago, where he got a fine position as a bond and stock salesman.

When the war came he enlisted in Illinois and served a year in the army. While in the service his health failed, and after his discharge he was sent to a sanitarium in New Mexico and later to El Paso. At times he seemed to be gaining, but the gain was not permanent.

He was one of the finest young men that ever went out from Clark County, and his early death is sad indeed. He leaves his parents, one brother Arthur, and one sister Meta, both and home.

The funeral will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church Thursday morning, Rev. Peter Weber officiating, the local American Legion joining in the ceremonies.
