Wegner, Herman (24 June 1858 - 26 Sept. 1922)

Herman Wegner, for many years a resident of Neillsville had vicinity died at his home in this city about noon Tuesday, Sept. 26, aged 64 years, three months and two days. He was born in Germany June 24, 1858, and came to this county with his parents at the age of 14 years. They settled on a farm in Pine Valley and there he grew to manhood and cleared up a farm. He was married to Miss Pauline Klopf and of this union three children survive: Mrs. Minnie Rosenberg, Mrs. Paul Hagedorn living near Neillsville, and Mrs. Frank Dux of Loyal.

His first wife died about 35 years ago and later he was married to Mrs. Katie Schwarbel, who survives him. For the past 15 years he has lived in Neillsville. He was a man of good principles, honest and upright, a good neighbor. Besides his wife and children mentioned he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Fred Hemp and Mrs. Web. Winn of Neillsville and two brothers, August Wegner and Fred Wegner of Pine Valley. The funeral takes place this Thursday afternoon at St. John’s Lutheran church, Rev. H. Brandt officiating, interment in Neillsville Cemetery.
