McCarron, Fred (29 Augl 1889 – 31 Dec 1972)

Fred McCarron, 83, formerly of the town of Little Black, died Sunday at the Dunn County Health Center at Menomonie. Funeral services will be at the Maurina Funeral Home at Dorchester on Wednesday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Henry Bahrenberg, pastor of United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Medford Evergreen Cemetery.

Fred McCarron was born August 29, 1889 in the town of Little Black. He received his education there. He spent several years in Canada, before returning to serve in World War I. He is a member of the Boxrucker-Berry American Legion Post at Stetsonville.

He spent much of his life logging and in road construction work. He retired in 1954 from work with the Mathey Construction Company in La Crosse. He never married.

He is survived by one brother, Edward McCarron, Medford; and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Henkel and Mrs. Anna Nelson, both of Kennan. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
