LaStofka, Barbara (25 Sep 1847 - 6 Dec 1910)

Mrs. Jos. LaStofka died at her home on Clay St. (Neillsville, Clark County), Tuesday, Dec. 6, 1910 of heart failure.

Deceased, whose maiden name was Barbara Fiala, was born in Bohemia Sept. 25, 1847. In 1867 she came to this country with her parents, who settled in Washington, Co., Wis. In 1867 she was married to Joseph LaStofka, who survives her. In 1870 they moved to Milwaukee, where they lived till 1876, when they moved to Clark County, settling on land in the town of York, which they developed into a fine farm, living there until 1903, when they moved into Neillsville, which has been their home ever since. To them was born four children: John, who lives in York; Mary, who died when two years og age; Martin, who lives at home; and Mrs. Lily Peterson, who lives at Oakland, Calif.

She was a woman of quiet, home-loving type, who attended well to the duties of her family and household; a kind and accommodating neighbor, and helpful to all. She did her life’s duties well and faithfully.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at the home, Rev. W.P. Burrows officiating.
