Tragsdorf, Clara (Marriage - 21 Jun 1910)

Mr. Roy Homer Fitch and Miss Clara Tragsdorf were married Monday evening at 8:30, June 21, 1910 at the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Bertha Tragsdorf, Rev. N.F. Chapman officiating. The rooms were tastily decorated with white and red carnations, smilax and peonies. The wedding march was played by Miss Mida Kane and the vocal solo "Constancy" was sung by Miss Ethel Ring. Mr. Perry Wilder of Madison acted as best man, and Miss Elsie Tragsdorf, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. The bride was becomingly gowned in white lace lingerie, the bridesmaid also wearing white; the groom and his escort were wearing the usual black. After the ceremony a fine wedding banquet was served.

The bride was born and brought up here (Neillsville, Clark County), passed through the city schools, graduated from the State University and after some experience elsewhere as a teacher was engaged the past year to teach the seventh grade, being transferred later to the High School on the resignation of one of the assistants. This position had again been offered to her. As a school girl, university student and teacher she made a good record; socially and in the every day affairs of life she had won the esteem of all who knew her.

The groom, whose home is in Madison, has a considerable acquaintance with our young people who have attended the University, and with others during his visits here. He is highly spoken of by all who know him, as a young man of clean character, energy and ability.

Wednesday morning the young couple started for Sawmut, Mont., where the groom has a claim on Which they will make their home.

In addition to home relatives and friends, the following guests from away were present at the wedding: Miss Mida Kane, Seneca, Wis.; Miss Alice Pagel, Winona, Minn.; Mrs. Jennie Wilder, Mr. Perry Wilder and Mrs. Margaret Fitch Hawley (the groom’s mother), all of Madison.

My gg-grandmother is buried in Clark Cty., Greenwood Cemetery and is said to have lived with her daughter in that area after her husband, Joseph Fitch died. Her name was Elizabeth Hunnewell/Honeywell. Together they had 14 children. Could Roy have been one of those children? Any info or leads appreciated. Elizabeth was born abt. 1801. Thank you.
