Westphal, Lizzie (Marriage - 28 Jul 1909)

A very pretty and pleasing event was the marriage on Wednesday evening, Jul 28th, 1909, at the residence of the bride’s sister, Mrs. Geo. Griffin, Stirling, Ont., of Miss Lizzie Westphall, formerly of Campbellford, Ont., to Mr. Haken M. Hansen of Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis. The bride was charming in a gown of pale blue silk and wool cricket cloth, cut on princess, and carried a bouquet of white carnations and pink roses. Mr. Geo. Griffin, brother-in-law of the bride, gave her away. Miss Ethel Brown, of Bayside, in white India lawn, was bridesmaid, while Carrie Griffin of Stirling, and Mamie Ibey, of Glen Miller, nieces of the bride, in white silk dresses made sweet little flower girls. The groom was supported by frank Westphal, of Trenton, Ont., brother of the bride; the ceremony being performed by the Rev. H. Lenord Phelps, of Stirling, Ont., after which a party repaired to the lawn, where a dainty luncheon was served.

Mr. and Mrs. Hansen left on the 9:45 train Thursday morning for Chicago and Milwaukee, en route to their future home in Neillsville, Wis., followed by best wishes from everyone for a long and happy wedded life.
