Russell, Kathryn (14 Jan 1925 - 7 Augl 2002)

Kathryn Russell, 77, formerly of Loyal, died on Wed., Aug. 7, 2002, at Kennedy Park Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Schofield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, Aug. 12, at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau.

Kathryn Rodgers was born on Jan. 14, 1925, in Decatur, Texas, to Charles H. and Bertha C. (nee Allison) Rodgers. She married Jack O. Russell on Aug. 29, 1964. She was a homemaker and worked as a riveter for Douglas Aircraft during World War II. She was a foster parent for more than 30 children throughout her life. Her interests included fishing, golfing, shooting pool and bowling.

Survivors include seven children, James (Marilyn) Goodson, Bangs, Texas, Phyllis Goodson, Wausau, Deborah K. (Phil) Stratton, Madison, Sheila (Larry) Smith, Lady Lake, Fla., Lori Nowak, Chicago Heights, Ill., Jack O. (Mary Ann) Russell II, Holland, Mich., and John F. Russell, Palatine, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Trenn (Lahoma) Rodgers, Dumas, Texas, and Charles H. (Patty) Rodgers, Lawton, Okla.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Jack, on Dec. 24, 2001; and two sisters.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau, assisted the family with arrangements.
