Waterman, Edmund (6 JUN 1837 - 13 Mar 1902)

Edmund Waterman, an old and respected resident of the town of Grant, Clark County, died at his home in that town on Thursday, March 13, 1902. He was born in England, June 6, 1837, and came with his parents to New York State in 1848. The following year they moved to Virginia, where they remained till 1857, when they moved to Buffalo, N.Y. In 1865 he came to Clark County, where he resided until his death.

The funeral was held Sunday at the Pleasant Ridge Church, burial taking place in the Grant Cemetery, Rev. G.W. Longenecker officiating.

(Follow on in 4/10/1902 R P) The following additional obituary of Edmund Waterman, a notice of whose death appeared in our issue of March 20, is received for publication. Edmund Waterman, known as Brun Waterman was born at Steplehust, Eng., June 6th, 1837. He came to this country with his parents in 1850 and settled in the state of New York. In 1865 he came with his uncle Jack Waterman to Wisconsin, settling in the town of Grant and living with his Uncle Jack until 1896. He made his home for three years with his cousin, Mrs. Sarah Hall and later for two years with Mrs. Ann King, also a cousin. Since Nov. 1901 he had stayed at the home of Mrs. Fan Swann, where he died March 13, 1902. He was a brother of William Waterman of the town of Grant. The funeral was held at Pleasant Ridge Church, Rev. Ingham officiating. He was buried in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
