Neverman, Rose (Marriage - 12 May 1900)

Morton Tompkins and Miss Rose Neverman were married Sunday evening, May 12, in Chicago, and arrived in Neillsville, Clark County Saturday morning. Mr. Tompkins left here during the winter for a trip to California, where he remained for two months, returning to Chicago, about a month ago. The bride had been in Chicago for some time with her brothers Ed and Jule, and it was at their home in the city that the wedding took place. The young couple was by no means strangers to each other before their meeting in Chicago and it can hardly be supposed that the meeting there was accidental. Hearty greetings and congratulations were showered upon them from all sides on their arrival and announcement of the situation. They are among the most popular young people in the city, and no stinted measure of hope for their future happiness and welfare come from their many friends. For the present, at least, they will reside in Neillsville.
